Deidra T. Rausch, PhD, LMFT

Executive Director

Deidra T. Rausch is the Executive Director of The Cabin. She is co-author of “The Fertility Guide” and is a sought-after lecturer on the topics of infertility, marriage, and self-care. Deidra holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana University. A licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in the state of Indiana, she is also a clinical member and approved supervisor of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She belongs to the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Deidra has been providing therapy to individuals, couples and families since 1990. She has clinical experience in the areas of marital conflict and distress, infertility, sexuality, bereavement, women’s issues, marital enhancement, and life coaching. She has been providing supervision to therapists in training and in seeking licensure since 1996.

Liza Baritt, MA, LPC

Liza earned her MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado in 2005. Liza has provided individual and group therapy for women and girls in a private practice setting and in inpatient hospital and residential treatment environments. She has extensive experience working with perinatal mood disorders, eating disorders, anxiety, and issues of adolescent development. Liza is a Certified Yoga Teacher and has specialized training in Positive Psychology from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Her coaching approach helps clients go from surviving to thriving by identifying their strengths and applying mindfulness and self-acceptance skills to manage difficult emotions, overcome challenges, and grow through life transitions.

Sally Bias, MSW

Sally Bias, MA holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from IUPUI and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Ball State University. She is working toward licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana. Sally is passionate about working with women’s and children’s issues.

Sherrie L. Bloemendaal, MSW, LCSW

Sherrie earned her Masters degree in Social Work from Indiana University and is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Indiana. Her clinical experience includes child and adolescent issues, self-injuring, eating disorders, parenting, family and marital conflict and distress, infertility, and depression. Sherrie frequently speaks to groups about parenting and teen issues.

Joan J. Cannon, RN, MA, LMFT

Joan earned her Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Christian Theological Seminary and is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in the state of Indiana. She is also a registered nurse and holds a Masters degree in hospital administration. Joan has clinical experience in adolescent issues, family and parenting issues, midlife transitions, healthy sexuality, abuse recovery, divorce recovery, anxiety, depression, grief, menopause, and infertility.

Bryan “Rob” Kern, MA, LMHC

Rob holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grace College & Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Purdue University. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana.

Rob specializes in adventure therapy, marital/couples counseling, adult/individual counseling, grief/loss, depression, spiritual development, men’s issues, and adolescent counseling.

His clinical experience includes working with: addictions, adolescents, adults/individuals, adventure therapy, affair recovery/infidelity, anger management, anxiety, blended family transitions, children, communication, depression, divorce recovery, eating disorders, family conflict, grief/loss, infertility, life-coaching, life transitions, marital/couples, men’s issues, mid-life issues, OCD, parenting & grandparenting, play therapy, pornography addiction, pre-marital counseling, rape recovery, school performance, self-esteem building, self-harm, sexual abuse recovery, sexual problems, spiritual development, substance abuse, suicide prevention, and women’s issues.

In addition to his work with clients at The Cabin, Rob is the Director of Counseling for an online purity ministry called The Risen. It is a non-denominational Christian ministry dedicated to informing, equipping, and serving those who have, or are currently, struggling with pornography, masturbation, lust, and other forms of sexual addiction.

Laurie Kirkpatrick, MEd, BSE

Laurie is a Gallup® Certified Strengths Coach and earned her master’s degree in school counseling from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004. Laurie has over 15 years of experience as a teacher, guidance counselor, and as director of counseling Services and assistant dean at Upper Iowa University. Laurie has 12 years of experience in providing therapeutic counseling for issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship and adjustment issues. Laurie is especially passionate about and experienced with helping teens and young adults understand and develop their natural strengths and coping mechanisms so that they may achieve optimal performance in their personal and professional lives. Laurie is also certified by the Professional Christian Coaching and Counseling Academy as a Grief and Joy Restoration Coach. Laurie is a wife and mother of two teen-aged daughters, Haley and Jenna. In her spare time, Laurie enjoys spending time with her family and three dogs. She and her husband attend as many outdoor concerts as possible and are loyal fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Roger L. Outcalt, LCSW, LCAC, ACSW, CAMS-II

Roger obtained his Masters in Social Work from Indiana University in 1977. He is certified by the National Association of Social Workers (ACSW) and is licensed in Indiana as both a clinical social worker (LCSW) and an addictions counselor (LCAC). He is certified by the National Anger Management Association as an anger management counselor (CAMS-II).

Roger provides marital therapy, extra-marital affair recovery, premarital counseling, and individual therapy for a wide range of issues. Since 1997, he has served substance-abusing men, women and adolescents whose addictions are exacerbated by mental illness, grief, abuse, molestation, rape, anger, and low self-esteem. In 2006, Roger expanded his range of addiction services to include pornography and gambling.

Allison Maines

Practice Manager

Allison is the Practice Manager of The Cabin. She joined The Cabin staff in July 2016 with more than 12 years of experience in the medical field. She was born and raised in Carmel and studied Nursing at IUPUI. Allison resides in Carmel with her husband Tim, and their daughter, Bella. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, entertaining, working on house projects, cheering for the Colts, and traveling.

Lindsay Reimer

Evening Receptionist

Lindsay is the Evening Receptionist at The Cabin. She joined The Cabin staff in February 2017.
