Confidentiality

All client contact and content of therapy sessions will be held in strict confidence by our therapists and staff. There are, however, some situations in which a therapist may be required by law to report information to the proper authorities. These situations include, but may not be limited to:  an indication of bodily harm to others, suicidal intentions, involvement in a felony, or reasonable evidence of child or elder abuse or neglect. If required by a court of law, a therapist may also be required to disclose information from therapy sessions. While our therapists prefer not to release or report information to authorities without a client’s knowledge or permission, there may be situations in which reporting of information may occur without a client’s involvement.

Your therapy session will be discussed with the other therapists on the staff of The Cabin. This is to ensure that your sessions provide you with the maximum benefit. Discussions with other therapists at The Cabin provide your therapist with professional accountability. All bounds of confidentiality apply to the therapists at The Cabin.
