Specialty Areas:
I specialize in working with children and preteens to support:

  • Emotional regulation & coping skills

  • Executive functioning & organization strategies

  • Anxiety & stress management

  • Self-esteem & social confidence

  • Behavioral challenges & emotional outbursts

  • School-related concerns & family dynamics

I also provide guidance to families, helping them understand their child’s unique needs while offering practical strategies to support growth and success at home and school.

What It’s Like to Work With Me:
Therapy should feel like a team effort, and I believe in working alongside kids and families to build skills that make life feel more manageable. My approach is warm, practical, and focused on real-life strategies that help with school, friendships, emotions, and everyday challenges. Whether it’s developing coping skills, strengthening executive functioning, or improving emotional regulation, I meet each child where they are and help them gain confidence in themselves.

Qualifications & Experience:
I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Indiana University South Bend and spent 11 years as a school counselor, working closely with children, preteens, and their families. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the emotional, social, and academic challenges young people face.

My approach is client-centered and collaborative, integrating a variety of evidence-based techniques, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to build healthy thought patterns and coping skills

  • Solution-Focused Therapy to help kids and families find strategies that work

  • Motivational Interviewing to encourage confidence and independence

  • Person-Centered Therapy to create a safe and accepting space

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Techniques to support emotional regulation

I also have a strong background in executive functioning coaching, helping children improve organization, time management, and problem-solving skills so they can feel more in control of their daily routines.

My Philosophy:
"I believe every child has the ability to grow, learn, and thrive with the right support. My goal is to help them build the confidence and skills they need to take on life’s challenges—one small step at a time."
