Deidra T. Rausch, PhD, LMFT, Founder

Dr. Deidra T. Rausch is a Founder of The Cabin Counseling & Resource Center and a respected leader in the field of mental health. As one of the first two providers at The Cabin, she played a pivotal role in shaping its mission: ensuring that no one is turned away from mental health care due to financial hardship.

Under her leadership, The Cabin evolved from a small church-based practice into an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2009—a transition made possible by Deidra’s vision, the dedication of four therapists, and a leap of faith. Since then, The Cabin has flourished, growing into a trusted mental health resource with 37 staff members, including 27 therapists, a life coach, a dietitian, and a dedicated administrative team across four locations.

Deidra also prioritized training the next generation of clinicians, facilitating the supervision and development of over 30 therapists. Today, The Cabin is one of the most sought-after training sites for students and pre-licensed clinicians.

Beyond clinical services, she helped cultivate the “resource center” aspect of The Cabin’s mission, expanding wellness programs for nonprofits, businesses, churches, and schools. She was instrumental in growing the Samaritan Fund, which has provided over $2,000,000 in financial assistance to ensure cost is never a barrier to care.

A passionate mentor and advocate, Deidra has spent over two and a half decades dedicated to mental health accessibility and education. Her legacy lives on through The Cabin’s continued growth and unwavering mission to serve the community.

In February 2025, Deidra retired from The Cabin. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and the lasting impact she’s had on our organization and the community. As she embarks on this exciting new chapter, we wish her endless adventures, from exploring new art forms (like glassblowing!) to making memories with family, traveling the world, and diving into all the fun and creative pursuits ahead.
